We often wax poetic about how important safety is to Subaru and now we have yet another feature to show you how serious we are. Subaru's Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC) system optimizes traction and stability, keeping you safe an control when the roads try to get the best of you and your Subaru.

What is VDC?

VDC is a sophisticated system that keeps your Subaru going on the path you're driving. Basically, our VDC system prevents your wheels from spinning at different speeds. So when the wheels are spinning without traction or your Subaru isn't going in the direction you are steering, the VDC system kicks in to save the day.

How does VDC work?

Each sensor monitors actual driving conditions and takes the information to continually and automatically optimizes traction and stability with a computer. It optimizes the torque distribution between the front and rear wheels and between the left and right wheels when braking. It even controls your engine output, so the sporty ride you expect from your Subaru isn't compromised for safety.
